The First Egg

Today was a very exciting day at LC Family Farm. 20 weeks in the making and we have our first egg! It’s small. You cant really tell from the picture, but it’s about half the size of a normal large egg. I read it takes a few more months to get them laying a normal large egg.

We currently have 28 layers (19 buff orpingtons and 9 barred rocks). We expect over the next 2-4 weeks that all of them start laying, giving us close to two dozen eggs a day, so if you’re interested in pasture raised and organic fed chicken eggs make sure you reach out!
